Dr. Ryan Bogard was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his B.S. in Psychology with a Minor in Biology from Indiana University, and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. As a dental student, Dr. Bogard was selected by his classmates for the Student of the Year award in recognition of his dedication to helping others both in the classroom and student clinic.
Dr. Bogard served as Chief Resident at the University of Illinois-Chicago Periodontics Program where he completed his Periodontics Residency. Dr. Bogard is currently pursuing and is on track to earn his diplomate status. He received extensive training in the areas of periodontal therapy, soft and hard tissue augmentation, dental implants, and I.V. conscious sedation. Dr. Bogard also received his Master of Science in Oral Sciences where his research focused on target therapy for the treatment of Human Papillomavirus Oropharyngeal Cancer.
In his PGY3 year, Dr. Bogard was selected by his faculty as the recipient of the inaugural Dr. Charles F. DiFranco Scholarship for his leadership in the program as well as excellence in care, concern, and support for patients. Dr. Bogard’s passion for Periodontics stems from the connection between oral and systemic health and the impact therapy can have on his patient’s overall wellbeing.
In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his soon to be wife, Blair, watching his beloved St. Louis Cardinals and Blues, and checking out the best and newest Chicago restaurants.
Dr. Bogard is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and Illinois State Dental Society.
